KYC & Identity Verification Policy
Last updated on 2 September 2026
This Policy explains how Bidoro Technologies Limited (trading as Bidoro) verifies users, especially sellers. It works with our Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Seller Code of Conduct.
Personal data collected for verification is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Nigerian data protection law, as administered by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).
1. Purpose
Verification helps us operate a safer marketplace, reduce fraud, and meet legal and payment-partner requirements. Completing it is required to sell on Bidoro.
2. Who Must Complete Verification
- Anyone who starts Sell on Bidoro / seller onboarding
- Users we flag for risk, high-value activity, repeated disputes, or payout issues
- Anyone from whom we must collect identity data to meet a legal or payment-partner duty
Buyers who only shop are not required to complete seller liveness or GPS checks.
3. What We Collect
Seller onboarding typically includes:
- Residential / business address, state, and LGA
- NIN (checked as you enter it)
- BVN — used to set up a payout wallet with our licensed payment partner (not sold, not used for marketing)
- Government ID image (for example NIN slip, voter's card, or driver's licence)
- Guided liveness check (camera; face images or short video; match to NIN). This is required
- Device location (precise GPS). This is required for vendors. The browser will ask for permission
- Political-affiliation / PEP question, where asked
- Later steps: business/store details and proof of address (utility bill or similar). We may read the store address from that document
We do not publish the names of verification or payment providers on this page. See the Privacy Policy.
4. How Long It Takes
Automated checks (NIN, liveness) may complete in minutes. Manual review, if needed, typically takes 2–3 business days. We may ask for clearer documents.
5. If You Do Not Complete Verification
We may restrict listings, hold payouts, or suspend seller access. Refusing camera or location permission, or submitting another person's identity, is grounds for refusal or ban.
6. Your Rights
You may exercise the rights in our Privacy Policy, including lodging a complaint with the NDPC. Contact privacy@bidoro.africa or support@bidoro.africa.
