Seller Code of Conduct

Last updated on 2 September 2026

This Code applies to anyone who lists goods or services, offers artisan work, or receives payouts on Bidoro. It is issued by Bidoro Technologies Limited (trading as Bidoro) (“Bidoro,” “we,” “us”). It works with our Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy, KYC & Identity Verification Policy, Escrow Policy, and Dispute Resolution Policy. By selling on Bidoro, you agree to this Code.

1. Our Commitment

Bidoro is a trust-first marketplace. Sellers must be honest, complete required verification, fulfil orders, and treat buyers fairly. We may remove listings, hold payouts, or suspend or ban accounts that break this Code.

2. Seller Verification (Required)

Before you list or receive payouts, you must complete seller onboarding. That typically includes:

  • Accurate address, state, and LGA
  • NIN and a government ID
  • BVN, used only to set up a payout wallet with our licensed payment partner
  • A guided liveness check (camera; face images or a short video matched to your NIN). This is required
  • Device location permission (precise GPS). This is required for vendors
  • Business / store details and proof of address where we ask for them
  • Political-affiliation / PEP answers where we ask for them

You must not:

  • Use another person's face, NIN, BVN, or ID
  • Fake, spoof, or refuse required camera or location checks
  • Sell without completing verification when we require it

How we use this data is in the Privacy Policy. We do not publish the names of verification or payment providers on this page. Data-protection complaints may be made to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

3. Honest Listings

You must:

  • Describe the item or service accurately (condition, brand, defects, size, whether new or used)
  • Use your own photos of the actual item where reasonably possible
  • Price fairly and not bait-and-switch
  • Keep availability up to date and cancel promptly if you cannot fulfil
  • Fulfil orders after payment is confirmed

You must not list stolen, illegal, counterfeit, or prohibited items (see the Terms).

4. Fulfilment and Communication

  • Ship or deliver within the time you promised, or update the buyer and Bidoro if you cannot
  • Provide tracking or proof of dispatch where applicable
  • Reply to buyer and Bidoro messages in good faith
  • Keep the transaction on Bidoro. Do not push buyers to pay outside the Platform (that removes Buyer Protection)

5. Disputes and Escrow

  • Cooperate with disputes. Respond, typically within twenty-four (24) hours of notification
  • Provide evidence when asked
  • Accept that funds for protected sales are held via our licensed payment partner and may be released, refunded, or split under the Dispute Resolution Policy
  • Buyers generally have one (1) hour after delivery confirmation to open a dispute

Bad-faith refusals to engage, or fake evidence, may lead to holds or bans.

6. Conduct Toward Others

Treat buyers and other users with respect. No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination. No fake reviews, multiple accounts to game visibility, or artificial demand.

7. What We Monitor

To protect the marketplace, we may review:

  • Fraud reports and scam attempts
  • Failed or refused verification (including liveness and location)
  • Suspicious accounts
  • Disputes and refunds
  • Off-platform payment pressure

We may publish periodic transparency updates (for example, accounts removed, dispute rates, response times) in anonymised or aggregated form.

8. Enforcement

Depending on the breach, we may:

  • Warn you
  • Remove listings
  • Hold or reverse payouts
  • Restrict selling
  • Suspend or permanently ban the account
  • Refer matters to law enforcement where required

Repeat or serious breaches (such as identity fraud, location spoofing, or prohibited goods) may skip a warning.

9. Reporting Abuse

Users may report fake listings, counterfeit goods, harassment, or suspicious behaviour through the Platform or support@bidoro.africa. Reports are reviewed confidentially as far as practicable.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this Code by posting a new version on the Platform and changing the “Last updated” date. Continuing to sell after an update means you accept the revised Code.

Important: Sellers who violate this code of conduct may face enforcement actions up to and including permanent removal from Bidoro. For full details, see our Terms & Conditions.
